PDC Signs Reseller Agreement with Hewlett-Packard Taiwan for Healthcare RFID Wristband Solutions
San Fernando, CA (June 6, 2005) – Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a global leader in automatic wristband identification, has signed a reseller agreement with Hewlett-Packard Taiwan, Ltd., intended to accelerate the adoption of RFID (radio frequency identification) solutions in the Taiwan healthcare market.
Under the agreement and effective immediately, HP Taiwan is granted an exclusive license to offer PDC RFID Wristbands, including Smart Band®, SuperBand®, ScanBand®, CompuBand®, and Smart AgeBand®, as part of its healthcare IT offering to hospitals in Taiwan. PDC will also provide sales and technical support. The RFID solution will initially be targeted for use in operating rooms of hospitals that are ready to implement the technology to help prevent medical errors.

PDC and HP Taiwan have begun an RFID implementation at Keelung Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taiwan. During the initial phase of the implementation, PDC Smart Band RFID Wristbands will be used in the hospital’s operating room to identify the right patient, right surgical site, right nurse, right blood, and right doctor. This additional safety check is expected to help reduce human errors and enhance the safety of patients. This is the first RFID implementation to transpire from the reseller agreement.
