PDC's Irwin Thall to Speak on Auto ID & Patient Safety in Healthcare at UCLA
San Fernando, CA (October 12, 2004) – Irwin Thall, RFID Manager for Healthcare at Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a global leader in automatic wristband identification, will give a presentation at the RFID Forum presented by the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Wireless Internet for the Mobile Enterprise Consortium (WINMEC). The conference will be held on October 12 at UCLA, Los Angeles, CA. Thall’s presentation entitled “RFID for Positive Patient ID and Safety” will begin at 1:15 p.m.
Thall’s presentation will discuss Auto ID, patient safety, and transitioning to new technologies in healthcare. The presentation will focus on RFID and how it complements and improves upon bar coding. Reasons why Auto ID is crucial to the future success of hospitals and healthcare organizations will be outlined. Thall will conclude with an overview of PDC’s Smart Band® RFID Wristband System. Current pilot studies using PDC Auto ID products include Georgetown University Hospital (Washington , DC) and Mass General Hospital (Boston, MA).
