PDC Appoints Thomas Harsin to Manage Technical Sales for Bar Code Solutions
San Fernando, CA (July 20, 2004) – Precision Dynamics Corporation (PDC), a global leader in automatic wristband identification, announces the appointment of Thomas Harsin as its new technical support specialist for PDC bar code solutions.
Harsin, formerly a systems support specialist at Standard Register Corporation, will spearhead technical sales and support for implementations of bar code systems within healthcare organizations. He will also work on business development and establish strategic partnerships while offering pre-sales and post-sales technical support. Harsin brings to PDC over 30 years of technology experience specializing in bar code solutions and peripheral systems such as printers and software.
“The addition of Tom Harsin to PDC represents a continuous effort to expand our total bar code solution and to help establish the auto-ID arena for healthcare,” said Chuck Hugues, director of sales at PDC. “Tom will facilitate the implementation of our bar code identification systems which offer effective and efficient methods to improve overall patient safety and organizational processes.”
Hospitals and health systems are embracing bar code technology to help ensure positive patient identification and streamline operations. The convenient and accurate automated process of bar coding can help reduce misidentification errors, which lead to thousands of deaths and billions of dollars spent in the U.S. each year.
PDC developed the first patient bar code ID wristband in 1984. Today its portfolio of bar code solutions includes CompuBand®, ScanBand®, Sentry® DataMate® System, Securline®, and more.
